Volunteer

At Project CAR, volunteer drivers are the engine of our mission: keeping neighbors connected to the life they belong to. Whether it’s a ride to a medical appointment, a church activity, or a job opportunity for a neighbor with developmental disabilities, your time at the wheel makes it possible for someone to move through their week with confidence, care, and independence.

We partner compassionate volunteers with riders in Sioux Falls by providing a safe, reliable fleet, radio support, and liability coverage—so you can focus on offering respectful presence and dependable service. Drive as often as you like, from a couple of hours a month to regular weekly shifts; most volunteer times run between two and five hours.

What we ask of volunteers
Volunteers must be between ages 25 and 79, have a clean driving record over the past three years (no DUIs), and bring a positive, encouraging presence to every ride.

If you’re ready to help neighbors stay active, independent, and connected with dignity, fill out the form below and our executive director will reach out with next steps. Your time at the wheel extends more than a ride—it affirms belonging.
