Project CAR exists because access to transportation should never determine whether someone can see a doctor, keep a job, worship with their community, or offer their gifts in service to others. Yet for many of our neighbors—seniors, people living on limited incomes, and individuals with developmental disabilities—that access is fragile or nonexistent.
Project CAR connects trained, compassionate volunteer drivers with people who simply need a ride—and in doing so, restores something far more important than mobility. We help restore independence, confidence, and belonging. A ride to a medical appointment becomes peace of mind. A ride to work becomes stability. A ride to worship or volunteering becomes connection and purpose.
Every dollar you give helps provide safe, reliable transportation throughout Sioux Falls. It supports not only fuel, scheduling, and coordination, but also the quiet, trusted relationships that form between drivers and riders—relationships rooted in respect, patience, and mutual care. These are not transactions. They are acts of shared community.
Your generosity helps ensure that no one is left isolated simply because they cannot drive themselves. It helps neighbors remain active, engaged, and rooted in the life they already belong to.
Thank you for giving in a way that honors dignity, strengthens community, and keeps our neighbors moving—together.
